We’ve been promised week in, week out that a heatwave will be hitting the UK and while the weather has certainly been warm and humid, it’s not quite been heatwave-esque. This all looks set to change, however, with forecasters now saying that the mercury is going to skyrocket, with scorching temperatures to last until September.
So what does this mean for all your orangeries in Bristol? Keeping them cool in the summer is a must, especially if you have lots of beautiful plants that could wither and die if not tended to properly.
Investing in heat reduction film is a good idea – all you need to do is have this installed on the roof of the orangery to help reduce the amount of heat and light that comes into the room.
You can also help to keep the heat out by installing blinds on your windows, although because orangeries do vary in both shape and size you might have to have your blinds specially made to fit the space.
Another option to consider is having roof vents added to the orangery roof so that extra air can be let in as and when it’s needed. Alternatively, you could also invest in air-conditioning, although this is likely to be very expensive and you should ask yourself whether the climate in the UK really demands this course of action.
If you’re yet to have an orangery installed at home and are interested in this kind of extension, get in touch with us here at LF Replacement Windows to see how we can help.
